Smell gas in your apartment? Here's what to do first — and what to NEVER do

This is the one topic where we won't tell you "open the app and call a repairman" as step one — because a gas leak isn't a job for a marketplace, it's a job for emergency services.

First, immediately

• Don't turn lights on/off, don't use your phone in the room
• Open windows and doors to ventilate
• Shut the main gas valve if you know where it is
• Leave the apartment with everyone inside
• Call the gas provider or emergency services — not a repairman through an app

Only once it's safe

Once the leak is fixed and checked by the relevant authority — only then does it make sense to call a Brzix plumber for repairs to the installation.
