Tile installation is one of the most in-demand trades in home renovation — and one where prices vary significantly depending on tile size, complexity of pattern and surface preparation required. Here are real figures for Belgrade, Pančevo and Valjevo in 2026.
Tiler labour prices — Belgrade 2026
- Standard tiles (30×30 to 60×60 cm), straight lay — 1,200–1,800 RSD/m²
- Large format tiles (60×60 cm and above) — 1,500–2,500 RSD/m² (heavier, harder to handle, more cutting)
- Diagonal or herringbone pattern — add 20–30% to the standard price (more cutting, more waste)
- Mosaic and small-format tiles — 2,000–3,500 RSD/m² (extremely labour-intensive)
- Bathroom wall tiling — similar price range as floor tiling, sometimes slightly higher due to adhesion complexity
- Grouting (separate charge if not included) — 200–400 RSD/m²
These prices are for labour only and do not include tiles, adhesive or grout. Always confirm whether grouting is included in the quoted price.
Tip: always ask whether the price includes grouting. Some tilers quote installation only and charge for grouting separately. A job isn't finished until the joints are grouted and cleaned.
Pančevo and Valjevo — price comparison
- Pančevo — labour approximately 10–15% lower than Belgrade. Standard tiling 1,000–1,600 RSD/m². Tiles mostly sourced in Belgrade, similar material prices.
- Valjevo — labour somewhat lower, 900–1,500 RSD/m² for standard work. Tile selection in local shops is more limited — factor in delivery costs if ordering from Belgrade.
What increases the price
- Poor surface preparation — an uneven or damaged subfloor needs levelling before tiling, which adds cost and time
- Large format tiles — require more precise levelling, more careful cutting and more physical effort to handle
- Complex patterns — diagonal, herringbone, or custom geometric layouts create significantly more cut pieces and waste
- Many small surfaces and angles — a bathroom with lots of corners, niches and wall fixtures takes longer than an open floor area of the same total m²
- Removing old tiles first — demolition is usually charged separately: 300–600 RSD/m²
How much do materials cost
Tile prices vary enormously depending on origin, format and finish. A rough guide for Belgrade showrooms in 2026:
- Economy tiles (domestic or basic imports) — 800–2,000 RSD/m²
- Mid-range tiles (Italian, Spanish, Turkish) — 2,000–6,000 RSD/m²
- Premium and large-format tiles — 6,000–15,000 RSD/m² and above
Tile adhesive costs approximately 500–800 RSD per 25 kg bag (covers roughly 4–5 m²). Grout costs 300–600 RSD per kg. For a 10 m² bathroom floor, expect to spend 1,500–3,000 RSD on adhesive and grout combined.
Warning: always buy 10% more tiles than the calculated surface area. Breakages during cutting are inevitable, and if you need to order more later, the batch may be discontinued or the shade may not match exactly.
Duration of works
An experienced tiler lays 10–20 m² of floor tiles per day, depending on tile size and layout complexity. A typical bathroom (5 m² floor + 15 m² of walls = 20 m² total) takes one tiler 2–4 days. This does not include waiting time for adhesive and grout to cure before the space can be used.
