Bathroom renovation is one of the most complex home projects because it combines plumbing, tiling and sometimes masonry works — all in a small space that must be functional as soon as it's finished. Here are real figures for Belgrade 2026.
Three levels of renovation — and what each costs
Cosmetic renovation (no demolition)
Replacing sanitary ware (toilet, washbasin, taps, shower set) without changing tiles and installations.
- Materials (mid-range sanitary ware): 50,000–120,000 RSD
- Labour (installation): 15,000–30,000 RSD
- Total: 65,000–150,000 RSD
Partial renovation (new tiles, same installation)
Removing old tiles, laying new ones on floor and walls, new sanitary ware.
- Tiles (materials, 6–8 m²): 30,000–80,000 RSD depending on quality
- Tiler labour: 15,000–25,000 RSD
- Sanitary ware and installation labour: 60,000–120,000 RSD
- Total: 105,000–225,000 RSD
Full reconstruction (everything from scratch)
Demolition down to the concrete, new installations (water and drainage), everything new.
- Demolition and removal: 15,000–25,000 RSD
- Plumbing (pipes, drainage): 40,000–80,000 RSD
- Waterproofing: 15,000–30,000 RSD
- Screed and levelling: 10,000–20,000 RSD
- Tiles (materials + labour): 50,000–120,000 RSD
- Sanitary ware (materials + installation): 60,000–150,000 RSD
- Total: 190,000–425,000 RSD and above
Tip: if you are changing the layout of the sanitary ware (moving the toilet or shower to the other side), the water supply and drainage must be completely rerouted — that's the biggest cost in a reconstruction. If the layout stays the same, the plumbing part is considerably cheaper.
Pančevo and Valjevo — indicative prices
- Pančevo — labour around 15% cheaper than Belgrade; materials mostly sourced in Belgrade, similar price. Full reconstruction: 160,000–370,000 RSD.
- Valjevo — labour somewhat lower, but local choice of tiles and sanitary ware is more limited (or more expensive delivery). Full reconstruction: 150,000–350,000 RSD.
Where costs most often "run away"
- Hidden problems beneath the tiles — old waterproofing that doesn't hold, rotten board, damaged concrete
- Replacing installations that weren't planned (old lead pipes, blocked drainage)
- More expensive tiles than planned — easy to happen when you walk through a showroom
- Unplanned days without water — neighbours, building management
Warning: always leave a 15–20% buffer in your budget. Almost every bathroom reconstruction runs into at least one unexpected problem beneath the surface.
Duration of works
Cosmetic renovation: 2–4 days. Partial: 5–8 days. Full reconstruction: 2–4 weeks (including waterproofing and screed drying time).
